Set against an idyllic New Zealand landscape, The Seekers’ Garden weaves together five stories of self-discovery within a larger tapestry of human experience.

Leaving behind the fragments of her once perfect life, Marcia Reed-Wilton crosses the world to return to her dilapidated childhood home and dig up the weeds of the past. Next door, elderly Mrs. Everglade struggles to maintain her independence in spite of her increasing frailty. Near by, sixteen year old Lea escapes into her poetry in order to cope with depression. Meanwhile, Iris leaves her career on a whim to embark on an adventure of an entirely different kind; moving to a sleepy seaside town to write a book. On the other side of the world in opposite seasons, Zane, vocalist for a popular progressive band is haunted by cryptic dreams that lead him home.

A few twists of fate and a buried secret leave these individuals deeply and unexpectedly connected.

The Seekers' Garden gives voice to various experiences that challenge many of us, exploring our pre-conceptions on life and the decisions we make. This novel invites readers on a journey into our own spiritual outlook.

The Seekers' Garden edition by Isa Pearl Ritchie Literature Fiction eBooks

What struck me most about The Seekers' Garden was how many subjects were touched with such clarity and personable ease. The five characters each differ from one another not only in context but also perspective, quite a feat when the mix span over 5 contrasting life stages.

Isa Ritchie goes beyond her years giving voice to these relatable individuals, providing insight so unhindered it is as though you are witnessing each character's movements throughout the novel. So engaging is the novel that each chapter eagerly pulls you in, gripping you with the attitudes and decisions the characters contend with.

What I found so engaging about Isa Richie's writing was her ability to connect with each character. I personally related to some of the issues touched in the novel, and I found Richie was able to convincingly portray these issues to a point where I understood the characters and empathised with their situations.

The journey The Seekers' Garden plot took from five seemingly unrelated and distinctive storylines was fascinating. Absorbing the different aliments the separate characters faced, then watching as their lives grew parallel with one another was seductively captivating.

The Seekers' Garden is a surprise read that inspires you to challenge you own perceptions and attitudes towards the things we face. An enjoyable read the sparks inspiration to reconnect with feelings, faith, and friends forgotten.

The Seekers' Garden edition by Isa Pearl Ritchie Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

A vacuous, silly book based on an absurd situation. New-age, feel-good. If you believe in Ouija boards, you'll love it.
A lush and captivating tale of intertwining destinies that is also like a how-to guide for self-awareness and spiritual growth. With evocative landscapes and protagonists you can empathise with; Isa has woven a rich tapestry of settings, situations and characters that are drawn together to a very satisfying conclusion.
The Seekers' Garden by Isa Ritchie took me by complete surprise. The synopsis doesn't do justice for all of the topics this novel covers and weaves together so creatively. The five main characters are so different from each other, each giving such a unique perspective on life that I almost felt like I was reading journal entries. With this writing style you cannot help but like the characters because you're on a personal level with them.

Ritchie creates a small circle of characters that seemingly have nothing to do with each other, and shares their intimate journeys to better lives. Each character has, I daresay, a problem with their life. Something that just isn't working. And each character is determined to reshape their lives. Watching the group of characters journey through this reinvention of life is inspirational and interesting.

I was captivated by the plot, watching the lives of five people completely change. It was also intriguing to attempt to figure out how they all fit together. What linked them, so to speak. And the link that they all share isn't an easy one to figure out. It took me until the end to make the connection.

The writing style varied throughout the novel. At some points, Ritchie gave the characters the pen and let them write what they were writing in the story. Iris is working on a book and she shares what she's putting in the book with the readers. Just like Lea writes poetry to escape her depression. Readers will read her poetry, giving them a deeper understanding of her life. I love how this allows readers to understand the characters.

The Seekers' Garden is a beautiful story about how five people can journey into a deeper sort of life, creating beauty and family and faith where there wasn't anything before.
The Seekers' Garden is a story about seemingly ordinary people who find a deeper, richer experience of life through self-inquiry, art, friendship and connection with nature. As such it is a story that resonates deeply - its characters could be any of us. What makes them unique is that they're unafraid to look their troubles full in the face, to plumb their own depths.

Through its five very different characters The Seekers' Garden explores many aspects of the human experience, and its challenges of loneliness, loss, alienation and fear. Ritchie demonstrates that through acknowledging and allowing our own grief and confusion we come to a place of peace and gratitude. The tone is thus gently optimistic while at the same time exploring many dark aspects of the human psyche.

Ritchie's style is inviting. The pace of the book gently draws you in and before you know it you've begun to identify with one or more of the characters, each of whom reflects a different stage of life or way of seeing the world. As each character is revealed, slowly their stories begin to intertwine until in the final pages their stories merge into one.

A very satisfying and through provoking novel, the Seekers' Garden reminds us that healing from painful experiences is possible.
I so enjoyed the therapeutic nature of her times spent in the garden and. Yard. It gave her added energy to go on
Isa has a gift of storytelling in which she provides vivid descriptions, bringing characters and places to life. The book follows the intertwined lives of five main characters. The diversity of these characters and their lives was interesting, yet they all had a common thread bringing them together. The setting is mainly in Hamilton and Raglan, in the North Island of New Zealand. As a Kiwi born and bred in Hamilton, I loved the familiarity. A great read.
